Diving around Candidasa is impressive!
The water is sometimes slightly cold, but the visibility is fantastic. The three main dive sites of Candidasa are big rocks not far from the coast. That said, the waters are very deep which attracts large species such as the white and blacktip reef shark and even the hammerhead and the Ocean sunfish if you are lucky!
With a sandy bottom which is also interesting are the species hidden inside the rocks.
Diving in Candidasa can be difficult due to the strong current, but these are sites that should be visited if you have enough experience.
Scuba diving on Nusa Penida is fantastic!
A short boat ride from Sanur will take you to Bali’s best dive sites. Nusa Penida has a concentration of Manta Ray visible all-year around. Indeed, the water-rich in Plankton constitutes the base of their food. From July to September, you may have the chance to spot the rare Sunfish or Mola Mola in those sites. It rises from the deep waters, to be cleaned by small fish close from the surface.
The north of the island offers exhilarating drift dives with a bottom of coral full of life.
Nusa Penida is a “MUST” for all divers wishing to be as close as possible to these impressive creatures.

Tulamben is famous thanks to the USAT Liberty Wreck. A US cargo that was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine during World War II and left on the beach. Most divers consider this site to be the best shore entry site in the world.
The bow of the wreck as well as the other sites are home to over a hundred species of reef fish, soft corals, nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses and other rarities. A paradise for photographers.
